The body of a young woman was recovered under suspicious circumstances from an under-construction building in the Keshtopur's Gaurang Nagar area on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Susmita Adhikari, who worked at a hotel.
According to reports, local residents first noticed a strong foul smell coming from the building. Concerned about the odor, the landlord, identified as Samir Gharami, went to the third floor of the structure to investigate the source.
When he reached the room on the floor, he reportedly found the door locked from inside. After pushing the door open, he discovered the body of the young woman hanging from a noose made with a dupatta. By that time, the body had already begun to decompose. The incident has triggered shock in the locality. Police were informed after the body was discovered, and an investigation is expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
